According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Matrix is getting the reboot treatment! This cyberpunk classic is still in early stages of development; however Creed’s Michael B. Jordan is in talks to star.
The script will be written by Zak Penn who has worked on films such as X-Men: The Last Stand, Avengers and Elektra. Additionally the original film’s producer Joel Silver is attached to the project.
But where are the Wachowskis? Apparently the duo who both wrote and directed the original trilogy aren’t involved in the new project, however THR speculates Warner Bros. would want their approval before continuing.
There’s no set date for the remake to start production.
I’ve got a suggestion for the new name: Matrix Rebooted. Clever right? …. Riiiight?
