It’s been three weeks since the Nintendo Switch console hit our stores, and already there’s talk that it could become Nintendo’s highest selling console.

Currently the Wii, which released in 2006, still holds the record of Nintendo’s highest selling home console ever. However Eric Bright, the Senior Director of Merchandising for GameStop – or in Australia, we call it EB Games – has said in an interview with Game Rant the Nintendo Switch could possibly eclipse the Wii.

Bright said “the Nintendo Switch is off to a start right now that it could possibly eclipse the Wii. Initial sales on this have been phenomenal. I can’t give straight numbers, but I can say we’re seeing one of the highest attach rates of software and accessories to a device that we’ve seen in a long time.”

Now, to really push those numbers up, Nintendo really have to pump out more amazing games like The Legend of Zelda. Maybe a new Metroid game? Fingers crossed!
