The Spider-man film spin-off Venom is reportedly due to start shooting this year and My Entertainment World has stated it’ll be an ‘action, horror, sci-fi film’ AND that it could be R-Rated.

The action and sci-fi aspect seems fairly commonplace given the content, but the real stand out is the ‘horror’ label. Collidor reports that it is ‘hearing’ that the studio wants to make it R-Rated, following the success of Deadpool and Logan … so you might not want your kids to see this one.

Sony has been trying to bring Venom back to the big screen for years after the lacklustre attempt in 2007’s Spider-Man 3. Allegedly, this film WON’T be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but rather the universe created by The Amazing Spider-Man. This means we won’t see Venom fighting The Avengers anytime soon.

Venom will latch onto the big screen in October 2018.
