Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia / 99.3 B-Rock FM

Disney has just dropped a whole bunch of release dates on highly anticipated films including Star Wars Episode XI and the fifth Indiana Jones film.

Star Wars Episode IX which originally had a vague 2019 release date will now arrive in May 2019, instead of the usual December time slot that was routinely targeted by the last three Star Wars films. Episode IX will be directed by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow.

Other films that got an updated release include the untitled fifth Indiana Jones films, pushed back from July 2019 to July 2020, but Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg are still on board.

Furthermore the Wreck-it Ralph sequel called Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 has been delayed seven months and will now release in November 2018. The live-action remake of The Lion King will take the previous Indiana Jones spot in July 2019.

The Lion King, directed by John Favreau includes Donald Glover as the voice of Simba and James Earl Jones reprising his animated role as Mufasa. Favreau has also stated that he still wants Beyoncé as the voice of Nala. Childish Gambino and Beyonce teaming up on the vocals!? That’s going to be an AWESOME soundtrack!

Other films from the list include:
A Wrinkle in Time – March 2018
Magic Camp – April 2018
Gigantic – November 2018

Frozen 2 – November 2019
Untitled Marvel Studios film – August 2020
Untitled Pixar film – June 2021
