She already proved her mettle with this year’s Wonder Woman, now Patty Jenkins is set to expand on the character she helped bring back into the modern age with a sequel! Patty Jenkins who directed this year’s breakout success Wonder Woman has already signed on to direct the follow-up which is expected to release December 13th 2019. Back in June Variety reported Jenkins was already working on a script for the sequel but at the time it wasn’t confirmed if she’d return behind the lens. Geoff Johns from Warner Bros, who oversees the DC film universe, said the “goal is to make another great Wonder Woman’ film.”

‘Wonder Woman’ has been a huge success for the studio, grossing $409 million in the US and $813 million worldwide. That’s pretty impressive for a budget of approx. $150 million.

It is estimated Jenkins will be paid approximately $8 million to write, direct and produce the sequel which makes her the highest paid female director of all time.
