I’m going to tell you about the bill for a massive rock festival that’s going down in Canada in late June. Until Thursday morning I’d never heard of Montebello Rockfest, but having seen the lineup for the 2017 edition of the festival, It’s now on my bucketlist of festivals I want to check out.
First question you’re probably asking is where is Montebello? It’s a small town located in between Montreal and Ottawa which apart from hosting a massive rock festival is also home to the largest log structure ever built in the world called the Chateau Montebello, thank you Wikipedia for that reference.
So the festival? It’s massive, the full list of bands will take a while to get through but here’s the reader’s digest version. Rammstein, Queens of the Stone Age, Iggy Pop, Alexisonfire, The Offspring who will be performing Ixnay on the Hombre, Wu Tang Clan, Megadeth, Bullet for my Valentine, At The Drive-in, AFI, 311, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Good Charlotte, Eagles of Death Metal, The Specials, Thursday, Killswitch Engage, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Anti-Flag, Soulfly, All That Remains, POD, Tesseract, Converge, Basement, Volumes and many more with Aussies Parkway Drive, Frenzal Rhomb and The Living End also appearing.
Montebello Rockfest goes from the 22 nd to the 25 th of June, tickets including weekend passes and camping are still available and are at parity with the Aussie dollar! Because Montebello is a small town its likely there are no hotel rooms available anymore so you will probably be camping, but there are VIP camping options available. Tickets and info can be found on the website
