Queens of the Stone Age have revealed that a new track from their as yet untitled new album will be released before they make it to Australia for a run of shows around their performance for Splendour in the Grass in July.

This news revealed to News Corp Australia around the same time that a teaser tweet was posted from the bands twitter account saying ‘Coming Twenty Five’.

Other confirmations include that the new album will not be featuring any guest musicians despite the music world losing their mind when a photo of Josh Homme, Jesse Hughes and Dave Grohl surfaced about 2 months ago hanging out in a studio (may the record show that I for one did not think it meant anything!).

Homme also revealed why the band are only playing a few select dates in Australia saying that this is on purpose so they can come back to play more shows in the future on this album cycle.

One of the more curious places to announce a show in Australia was Darwin but it appears that this was on purpose because the QOTSA frontman just wanted to play somewhere where he and his wife Brody Dalle and 3 kids can take a holiday and the top end is a perfect place for that. May I recommend Darwin’s famous Mindle Beach Markets!

Homme would also like to get close to the locals saying he wants to ‘get close to a croc just to see what it’s like’.
