It looks like the young Han Solo Star Wars spin-off isn’t flying as well as the Millennium Falcon can in the Kessel Run. First of all the original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were canned from the project over “creative differences”, and NOW The Hollywood Reporter says the company have brought in an acting coach for Alden Ehrenreich, aka the guy playing Han Solo, because they’re “not entirely satisfied” with his performance.

THR notes that while it’s not entirely unheard of to bring in an acting coach during filming, the timing of this one is out of the ordinary.

While actors like Felicity Jones and Daisy Ridley portrayed entirely new characters in the latest Star Wars films, there is a lot of pressure on Ehrenreich’s shoulders to pull off the a younger version of the franchise favourite Han Solo.

It’ll be no easy task but it seems Lucasfilm, under the new direction of Ron Howard, are taking the right steps to make it work.

The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology Film is still set to release in May 2018.
