Ticket Scalping outlawed in NSW

Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia / 99.3 B-Rock FM

Dear ticket scalpers may you exit the building and don’t let the door hit your backside on the way out. NSW has now made it illegal to resell tickets to concerts, festivals or sporting events for profit. As stated by Fair Work Australia “In NSW it is now against the law to resell tickets for more than the original ticket cost, plus transaction costs that are capped at 10%”. So in other words if you buy a ticket or multiple tickets for an event and you plan to sell them for a profit above 10% of the original ticket price you can be fined. And this isn’t a slap on the wrist fine, the maximum penalties are $22,000 for a corporation and $11,000 for an individual. So long ticket hording parasites, time to find a way to make money legitimately.
