Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 is days away from hitting our screens, however speculation has already begun as to whether or not director James Gunn, who brought both the original and Volume 2 to life, will return for a third outing. To put those rumours to rest Gunn went to Facebook to address his fans before the media and announced he’s on board a third film.
In his lengthy Facebook post Gunn talked about how Hollywood has a history of making haphazard endings to trilogies and didn’t want to be part of that ‘dishonourable tradition.’ After months of discussion and incredible support from his fans, he decided he’d write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3.
Gunn says the next film will happen after the big showdown between the Avengers and Thanos in the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War. This will conclude the Guardian’s story and even help catapult both old and new Marvel characters into the next ten years and beyond.
