This week there were two big announcements regarding the sequel to the sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow. Firstly, it was announced Emily Blunt will return for the follow-up alongside Tom Cruise, and secondly, this is the one that’s got people talking, is that the potential NAME of the film was announced too. And … well … it’s an interesting one.
The film may be called ‘Live, Die, Repeat and Repeat’
Director Doug Liman revealed the title in an interview with Collider and said they have an ‘amazing story’ that’s ‘way better than the first film.’ I know it sounds confusing as to why they didn’t just simply go with Edge of Tomorrow 2, but there is a reason.
When it was released back in 2014 the film failed to exceed expectations at the box office so when it arrived on our smaller screens there was a strong incentive to make the film sound more exciting, hence the heavier emphasis on the film’s tagline which read ‘live, die, repeat,’ so I guess the original film’s official name is ‘Live, Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow.
