Perth to get ‘Highway to Hell’

The Perth Festival next year have announced a pretty epic finale to festivities with the organisers announcing that parts of the Canning Highway which runs along the southern bank of the Swan River will close on Sunday March 1st to become the world’s longest stage dubbed ‘Highway to Hell’.

A tonne of international and Australian acts will perform AC/DC classics on the back of semi-trailers for 10 kms. The festival will mark the 40 years since the death of AC/DC frontman Bon Scott who grew up and cut his teeth on the live circuit in Perth and Fremantle.

Bands due to perform at ‘Highway to Hell’ include Japanese band Shonen Knife, Amyl and the Sniffers as well as the Perth Symphony Orchestra. For all the info about the event head to the website perthfestival.com.au
