We were shocked and saddened yesterday to hear the news that Mental As Anything co-founding member Andrew ‘Greedy’ Smith had passed away at the age of 63 years old. The band’s manager Grant Bartlett confirmed the news to AAP that Smith had suffered a heart attack whilst driving in Sydney and even though paramedics arrived in time to the scene, Smith passed away shortly after.
The band posted a statement via the Sydney Morning Herald speaking of their ‘grief and confusion’ over his death and passed on prayers to Greedy’s wife and children. Smith’s passing has shocked many considering that Mental As Anything played a gig last weekend in Tathra and that he was a fit guy for 63.
