Late last month Red Hot Chili Peppers fans got an early Christmas present with the announcement that John Frusciante has returned to the band replacing guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. This is Frusciante’s third stint with the band having been with them until 1992, returning in 1998, then leaving again in 2008.
The update to this story is that drummer Chad Smith has told Rolling Stone, that the band are already working on new material and will be doing so for most of the year in between festival appearances, so watch this space because there could be some new tunes released this year.
