Smashing Pumpkins releasing a Double Album later this year

Is it 1996? Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan has revealed in an interview that the reformed band will be releasing a double album later this year. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Part 2?

The band are currently based in Nashville writing and recording the new double slab. In the interview with the Tennessean Corgan said that the writing has been going on for over a year and that there’s about 21 songs ready to go. Corgan did note that fan expectations have the band working twice as hard to recreate their glory days of the 90s.

Let’s see what happens when we hear some of the new material later this year.
